The Best Equipment From A Fitness Pro

The Best Gear for Your At-home Strength and Yoga Training Sessions.

Your workout space set-up should start with a yoga mat (like I do every day live on Facebook) to create your personal exercise area. Make it intentional! Many exercises are done on your knees, hands, and laying down, so you want a good quality yoga mat (see suggestion below) that feels good, looks good and is the appropriate thickness. You'll have it forever.


If you're just starting out, buy a few items, and add on when you're ready. I suggest these specific items because after 20 years of being in the fitness industry I've used many products and these are some of the best for durability, feel/texture, weight, size, color, etc. And you only want to buy once for your lifetime of health and fitness. I do not get kickbacks for what I reference. The shopping list is below with links and a collage of pictures.


EQUIPMENT TO START WITH:

  • for women 5, 8, & 10 lb. dumbbells

  • for men 12, 15 & 20

Get a RESISTANCE STRAP.


ADD-ON eventually:

  • for women 12, 15 & 20 lb. dumbbells

  • for men 25, 30, & 35.

Get a foam roller. If you do yoga, get a yoga block and yoga strap.
